The run starts in the 14 Area of Camp Pendleton.
To enter Camp Pendleton you will need 1) Driver's License, 2) Vehicle Registration, 3) Proof of Insurance. Wish the Marine on duty a Happy Birthday! If asked your destination inform the Marine you are going to the 14 Area for a USMC Birthday fun run. If asked for a sponsor's name tell them LtCol Mike Collier USMC (Ret) and 1st Lt Matt Rogers USMC. Telephone contact for the sponsors is (858) 413-6555. Specific directions to the run start. Enter the Main Gate off of I-5, continue on Vandefrift Blvd approximately 8.5 miles to Rattlesnake Canyon Road. Turn right and follow Rattlesnake Canyon past the top of the hill to the traffic light. Continue straight through the intersection, Rattlesnake now becomes 16th St. Follow 16th St through the 4-way stop sign and around a big curve to the left. The run start is a little further on the right, in the parking lot near building 14137.
