Location: Lake O'Neill, Camp Pendleton, CA
Directions: I-5 north to the Camp Pendleton/Oceanside Harbor Dr. exit. From the Camp Pendleton main gate, follow Vandegrift Blvd 9.4 miles. Turn left at the traffic light for Santa Margarita Rd. (sign for Lake O'Neill). Follow 1/4 mile, turn right on Lake O'Neill Rd. Run start is 1/2 mile on the left. Thomas Bros:

Even some virgin terrain scouted out by your Hares. Three trails: Eagle, about 6.5 miles Turkey, about 4.75 miles Walker, about 2.5 miles Tremendous, bounteous food prepared by Hooting Beaver and La Bufadora. Free flowing Stone IPA. To drive on Camp Pendleton you need a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Consider car pooling. If the gate guard asks where you're going tell him/her "Lake O'Neill for a fun run". If they ask for the sponsor's name tell them "LtCol Mike Collier USMC (Ret)" Camp Pendleton regulations say dogs must be on a leash at all times. Hashers who plan ahead will bring an extra pair of shoes.
