The Umpteenth Somewhat-Annual Not-Actually-Naked Berserk Ride to Goat Canyon Trestle
Hare(s): Dr.Dive, Burnt Tatas, and a gaggle of partially clothed Berserkers
Address: 1951 Carrizo Gorge Rd, Jacumba Hot Springs, CA 91934
Directions: Head east on I-8 for about 70 miles and take exit 73 for Jacumba. At the stop sign at the exit take a right and then immediately take another right to continue onto the dirt road that is Carrizo Gorge Rd. Park in the shade under the I-8 before the entrance to De Anza Springs Resort. Map Link: https://goo.gl/maps/W6bWzGCiY462 Run Fee: Free, but bring plenty of water and a snack for the ride, and some booze or bucks for the end. Trail type: A to A Dog friendly: No Notes: This weekend is the Berserk Campout at De Anza Springs nudist resort. Come join us for a Sunday morning mountain bike ride to Goat Canyon Trestle, the longest curved wooden railroad trestle in the world. Leave San Diego early enough to allow for an hour drive and a half hour to setup your bike. Trail is 14 miles out and back alongside the railroad tracks, and never more than a few percent grade, but the trail is a little sandy and passes through several long tunnels, so wide tires and a bike light are highly recommended. Bring plenty of water, a snack, and some booze for either the ride or ending. Be warned that Carrizo Gorge is remote and has no cell reception, so bike tools, spare tubes, and a first aid kit may be useful. Get your pants off and let's ride!
